Camp Barn Theatre is an exciting program developed for students of the arts, from beginners to advanced, to promote self-confidence and creative expression, while teaching the basic tools of the theatrical trade. Students will receive a fundamental, working knowledge of theatre from professional actors and theatre educators. The daily classes will encompass acting, music and theatre dance, with special guest speakers offering insight into the technical aspects of theatre, as well. Students will work together creatively over the course of the four week camp toward the common goal of producing a full length stage production.
Instruction includes:
- Acting instruction
- Theatre games and improvisations
- Character development and scene study
- Technical theatre instruction
- Vocal instruction
- Rehearsal time and stagecraft
- Audition techniques
- Open forum discussions on all aspects fo the theatre and film industries
Camp Dates: Monday, July 7, 2008 thru Friday, August 1, 2008 (4 weeks)
Camp Hours: Monday - Friday, 9 am - 4 pm.
Performance Dates: August 1st (7:00 pm), August 2nd (7:00 pm), August 3rd (2:00 pm), 2008
Show: A Shakesperience - "Romeo & Julie" and "When Shakespeare's Ladies Meet"
Age requirements: children in 4th thru 10th grades
Cost: Registration Fee - $25 (includes a Camp T-shirt and two complimentary show tickets per family); Tuition - $460
Enrollment:
- Limited to the first 25 students who pay the regisitration fee of $25.
- Deadline for full tuition of $460 is June 23, 2008
