Dear Members, Patrons and Friends,
Welcome to Martin County’s oldest community theatre. This is The Barn Theatre’s 37th season of providing quality community theatre. As with most not-for-profit organizations, we at the “Barn” are a group of volunteers that truly love the performing arts and it shows in the quality of our productions. The key word here is “volunteer”. We would not exist if it were not for the hard work of all the people on stage and behind the scenes that make sure that you have a wonderful experience here tonight. I want to thank each and every one of the cast and crew of this production. Additionally, I would like to thank our sponsors and season ticket holders for your continuing support. Your loyalty and support are the reasons that the Barn Theatre volunteers can do what they do best, “go on with the show”. In addition to our five main stage productions each year, we also provide a Holiday show along with our Studio Series of One-Act Productions. This is our way of introducing new actors and directors to The Barn Theatre along with offering a shorter show commitment to our seasoned actors. Keep checking this website to get updated information or call our office Monday – Thursday to speak with one of our friendly staff at 772-287-4884….Even better still, become a member. Our annual membership is only ten dollars,($10.00) for Regular membership and ($5.00) for Junior membership (age 12-17 non-voting), and there are many benefits, such as receiving 9 issues a year of our newsletter “Around The Barnyard”’ keeping you informed with Barn happenings, current classes forming from acting (reduced rates for members) to free technical training, and how you can get involved in any of our upcoming productions or committee projects. Membership and volunteer forms can be downloaded from this website or picked up at the theatre. Also, you may attend our quarterly meetings, vote after 6 months and run for elected office after one year of continual membership and all members are invited to our annual Awards and Installation of Officers Dinner which is always an enjoyable evening. As most of you know, the Barn Theatre has been considering another site to build a new theatre. As our facility ages, it gets more and more expensive to maintain, yet, the history, heritage, quaintness and current location of The Barn Theatre makes this decision more difficult. The site we own on Jack James Drive, although large enough, may not be the most ideal site for our new theatre so there are no current plans to move to that location. Other options may be available to us including keeping the theatre at its present location. Remember, The Barn Theatre is not only Martin County’s premier community theatre but is also tax exempt as a 501C3 not for profit organization. Thank you again for supporting the theatre and hope to see you around the Barn!
Jay Mallory, President Barn Theatre Board of Directors
