COMMERCIAL/PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
FOR THE FLORIDA BLOOD CENTERS
Scott Bunkelman of WPBF, Channel 25, an ABC affiliate in
Palm Beach , contacted Linda West at The Barn Theatre looking for trained actors
to film a commercial for the Florida Blood Centers. The commercial was shot at
two Stuart locations. One at Stuart's Memorial Park, and the other downtown near
the Boardwalk, with the beautiful river in the background. The name of the
narrated commercial is called Chances.
Florida Blood Centers wanted actors
to do this. All that was required was a warm and confident smile and
ability to follow directions. On
Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006, seven Barn Theatre Volunteer Actors/Actresses gave
their time freely for a great cause.
"The actors will portray heroes saving peoples lives by
donating blood" said WPBF Director Scott Bunkelman. Based on Linda West's
background and experience in industrial and training films, she choose seven
willing and caring volunteers to complete this mission. The Barn Theatre is
Stuart's oldest community theatre entering its 37th year of quality live
theatre. "It was our turn to give back … and what a better way to say
thank
you to our Florida residents who have supported the performing arts
throughout the Treasure Coast". "It's our responsibility to serve the community
as best we can," Linda West said. The commercial will be aired within two
weeks.
